Local move within Florida

One of the worst experiences of my life!

These lying, thieving individuals should be in prison! I went over all details of my move over the phone with a very nice man. Unfortunately, that man is part of the classic "Bait and Switch." When the crew came out to load my house, they were extremely rude, and advised me that, even though the rep on the phone quoted me per sq. foot, I would instead be charged for each individual item. Unfortunately for me, I had many small items. Now for the best part.. once I was in Florida, these criminals decided to not deliver when they said they would. The disgusting, rude, unprofessional driver decided to take an extra week to deliver my items. Once they finally showed, and started unloading my items, I noticed that most of my boxes had been crushed, and opened. I had several rubbermaid boxes that I shrink wrapped, and had been cut, so they could go through my items and steal what they wish. I was missing so many items. Even though I bubble wrapped my very expensive, cherry wood bedframe and bed posts, they still managed to put large cracks and scratches through 2 of the posts, and the foot board. One of my kitchen boxes was so crushed, it literally smashed my metal popcorn popper.

After confronting the driver, he was nice enough to tell me to F$%k off, and if I had a problem, call the number, and file a claim, while handing me paperwork, advising that I owed over $2000 more than what I signed when my items were loaded in Phoenix. Oh, and the icing on the cake is that there is no claim process. You can't reach anybody, and if you do, they don't do anything. The move from Phoenix to Ft. Lauderdale was over $6,500, and they destroyed many of my items and went through all my personal items!! Again.. they should be in prison!! I hope karma pays these criminals a visit!

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Very poor service ..they should close down.

I am so angry ..  moved from LA. Miami on Dec.,2012    !st Choice Moving & Storage gave me very poor service .. They came to my home for an estimate.. Once I received and scheduled a date for the  move . I asked them to add the cost of them packing which they did and I agreed to the price.   On the day of the move they brought their crew to package my very beautiful furniture, they claimed after they were finished and took my staff  away that a mistake happened in the costing of the job even if I had an official quote and a signed agreement. I was blackmailed into price increase which I agreed upon simply out of  fear that they have total control over my expensive furniture..   I received my furniture in Miami and what I found when they opened the truck was totally devastating.. You have no idea how destroyed they furniture are, chandlers were broken, leather chairs legs were broken , tables that were just tapped together, Paintings had arm chairs  through them , missing art painting , dining leather chairs  torn ..  an a lot more    I have called them emailed them and, tried to speak to the owner no responses     I  am attaching photos from the move so they can speak for themselves..   They are very poor and unprofessional company ..I hired a lawyer to  address the matter with US Department of Transportation and other transportation authorities ..     I do not want money I want to make sure those guys  stop from operating as carriers and, make sure they do not treat customers like they treated me                john h.  .

Long-distance move from Arizona to Virginia

Good Moving Company.

My experience with the moving company was pretty good. I got a quote over the phone and they asked me more questions than everyone else did about my move (packing, each room, and even about outside). No one else did. My representitive let me know about some things that needed to be packed and that is what made him stand out to me. It cost me a little more but I was told up front. When the guys got here they were polite and spoke english. They moved fast yet carefully. Delivery took a little more than what I was wishing for but my stuff arrived in tact and safe and they told me up front that delivery could take up to a couple of weeks. All around, I would go with these guys again but I hope we will not be moving again anytime soon lol. Thanks guys. :).

Long-distance move from Arizona to Oregon

Worst company.

The guys came a day early to get our stuff so I thought great I will get my stuff so we rushed to Oregon. Our cost went up double he said summer rates which I should of been locked in to summer rates because I reserved this company a couple months in advance .. to find out they take it to the warehouse and unload it and reload it so of course your items are getting thrown around more than once. Then it took 18 days to get our stuff I called everyday and got a different story. We had to sleep on the floor and buy things to make it until this truck came. The worst part my mom is paralyzed and some of her stuff was on that truck. When the driver finally arrived and unloaded many things where broken my mom dresser mirror from 1956, a cabinet because they can't pack the truck right putting heavy items on shelves, and many family heirlooms were broken. So now I do a claim and I am sure we are out that money. With all of this I would of been better getting 2 UHauls, and some friends. The driver was nice and felt bad the things were broken he said they should of packed the truck better. Since I called USA moving and than it is First Choice and than it was NW Relocation. This was the worst experience I have had I always moved myself and nothing broke in the 2 different times we moved. Here are just some picture not all I think in all there are over 29 items broken.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Texas

My Last Choice Mover.

We were assured delivery would take 7 days. In fact it took 21 days. The foreman at pick up was quite rude and jacked up the price by $500. because of a few extra boxes. I got the feeling that this was quite a common practice and a scam often pulled. When delivery was finally made many items were broken and the driver informed me that my road bicycle was stolen on route. After full payment this company wanted nothing to do with me. E-mails  and phone calls are never returned. Please make this your last choice if you're considering a move.

Long-distance move from Arizona to California

Worst Moving Company Ever.

This is probably the worst moving company in the planet. I wish I had done my research and not just gone along with what the Sales guy I spoke to told me. I understand that moving sucks but they are worst of the lot. I have hired moving companies in the past and they have their share of issues but this one is by far the worst.Their sales pitch was "We have are own trucks and our own people that do the move so I wouldn't have to deal with other people". Completly false and misleading information.. when they showed up to pick my stuff they didn't have the right tools to begin with, I had to go and buy tools for them and instead of being thank full, the "foreman" pocketed the tools and walked away. They took mattress and box springs and told me that they didn't have the covers with them and would put covers on it when they got back to their office, when my stuff showed up there was no covers on either on them. After picking up my stuff they wanted me to sign documents which were never discussed prior to the move, complete holding your customer hostage tactics. When my stuff showed up a couple of days late, it was a driver from another company that demanded that I pay him $150 dollars for long haul else he would leave my stuff on the side of the road. When I showed him the contract and notes, he pretty much had 1 line to say " I don't have time for this, pay me or I will drop your stuff on the side of the road".Most of my expensive stuff(couches, dresser, armoire, grill, dinning table) which they packed was damaged, I tried calling them and leaving them messages but no response.Watch out for these guys.. they are nothing but trouble so if you like your belonging pick another mover.. they are worst of the lot..

Long-distance move from Colorado to Indiana

Entire shipment pilfered, damaged.

No matter what, DO NOT LET THE DRIVER LEAVE WITHOUT INITIALING THE WAYBILL FOR ALL ITEMS DAMAGED OR MISSING!! sounds sniplet - for a few items - but when the entire load has been compromised, the driver will be in a hurry and tell you to make a list, take photos and file with the insurance company.  WRONG!!,.  i FILED A POLICE REPORT WITHIN HOURS OF THE DELIVERY, SENT OVER 200 PHOTOS TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY, MOVING COMPANY, DOT, ICC, ATTY GENERAL OF ARIZONA (WHERE THE COMPANY IS OWNED) and got only acknowledgement but no serious effort to compensate,  Eventually, the credit card company I had used told me that none of that made any difference..the waybill must be acknowledged for each item at the time of delivery by both the driver and the patron.  Interesting that my driver, Eugene, said "I'm sure you don't want to sign off on these papers that your shipment was received ok."  I said, nope, I;m not signing anything, I'm calling the police.  Eugene said my stuff was damaged when it was transferred from another storage facility owned by the moving company to his truck.  Now, I don't believe him.  I was totally duped. The shipment was delayed for months and kept in storage (in the Texas heat) until they found someone to drive it to my new location.  The details are complicated but I was misled, overcharged, and NOBODY in government cares.  My attorney said that I could file a suit but that a judgement against an Arizona company in Indiana wouldn't net me any compensation. Just don't let your driver leave - if it takes days - before everything missing or damaged has been acknowledge on paper by him!!

Long-distance move from Arizona to Maryland

Out of state move.

I recently had a move from AZ-MD done by First Choice / USA Moving and I was impressed with the service. I did pay slightly more than my estimate but do admit I had extra boxes and furniture than what I told my sales rep. The movers did an excellent job wrapping and protecting my items. My delivery was within the 2 weeks they state for cross country moves. I would use them again if I ever move again and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a solid mover.

Move.

I've moved a about 8 times in my life including overseas. Salesman was straight forward - covered everything and gave me all the "gotch you's".  The movers were professional.  Foreman was on top of everything.  At delivery - my wife marked off all the boxes and items, and told the movers where to put the boxes and furniture.  The movers also helped move boxes and furniture from one room to another when we had decided upon some changes at delivery.  Assembly of some furniture was a tad slow but done correctly. -Some very minor damage at delivery -  I filed a claim for those items online on their web site and was contacted by the claim department.  I sent in the pictures and information and the claim was settled  overall a very good experience.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Idaho

Horrendous, unethical and no conscience.

Truck arrived late on scheduled pick up date with no communication made to notify me. Once the truck arrived, then had to wait for helpers to arrive since first crew bailed out last minute. Significant damages to my home were caused by the careless methods used by lumpers. The foreman then took no responsibility for the damages and accepted no responsibility for the cost of the repairs.  The cost of my initial estimate more than doubled once the truck arrived and I was told if I did not agree and sign the paperwork nothing would be moved onto the truck. The delivery of my items far exceeded what the contract time frame stated. No communication was made during that time to keep me updated. Messages left went unanswered.  An unauthorized $600.00 charge was made to my credit card following other charges. The office staff was not helpful in resolving this to have it removed. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge to have it removed.  I got less than 24 hrs notice that my belongings were going to be delivered while I was out of town and then told if I could not get back in time my things would be put in storage and I would be charged a storage fee and a re-delivery fee. Upon delivery of my belongings many valuable items were missing, stolen and completely damaged. The moving company accepts no blame for the items that are unaccounted for and did not make it off the truck.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Florida

Overall Successful Move.

With 1st Choice Moving & Storage, the price I was given over the phone attracted me in closing with this company. I moved from Phoenix, AZ to Orlando, FL and the amount of phone calls was overwhelming. The professionalism and knowledge with the moving industry in Lisa's voice was outstanding. I thank you again Lisa for comforting me and putting my fears to rest. They arrived at my house about 20 minutes early which was fine because it gave me time to show them around the house and cofirm the inventory was correct, which was my only price increase, because I ended up having approx 10 extra boxes and 2 bookshelves, but it was on my end, so I understood. They worked swiftly and there was no damage to the walls on the way out.
They finished the job well done and were on their way. Lisa had originally informed me that my items will arrive in NY in 4-7 business days.
On the day of my move, Maria told me that the time frame was correct, 4-7 business days, and I was there within 4. My items arrived 5 days after pick up and I was very pleased with this schedule.
They unloaded all of my items within 2 hours and reassembled my beds and dining room table. Everything was as planned. The only thing damaged was my 2 year olds flimsy baby seat, which I claimed with them, and the insurance covered it as they promised.
Overall, the service was great!! I couldn't be happier and will not hold an ikea babyseat against you with a bad review. Thank you very much, I will definitely refer you to all of my friends and family. If I choose to move again I will use you! Thumbs up for 1st Choice Movers.

Cannot say strongly enough:DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The absolute worst moving experience ever.  We have mover across the country several times and have me peer had a complaint.  In the past we used the big national moving companies.  This time trying to keep costs down we used this one.  They were impossible to deal with.  We waited for our belongings long long, long after the due date. Our things were picked up mid-July and were finally delivered  late September. The managers were worse to deal with than the people who answered the phones.  The driver showed up at our house when we were out of town, said since he couldn't get in he was going to put our things in storage and would not tell us where he deposited them because we said we did not owe them any more money since they were so long after the guaranteed delivery date.  BTW, we told them we would be out of town at the time they finally decided they wanted to deliver our things. We flew across the country twice to meet them and they cancelled the delivery date both times. I can not say strongly enough DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  I have never reviewed a company before but this company is so egregious I thought it was worth taking the time to write about them. .

Up charged me the day of my move - destroyed many prized possessions.

Got a quote over the phone from First Choice. Sold my house and had to be out the next day after the move. First Choice Movers got there, looked in my door and told me the price would be double that quoted to me. They knew I had to be out the next day. I called the office and had to settle for a price $500 over what they quoted me. I bought into them because they stated they had climate controlled storage. I had several really expensive good guitars and they said they could store them just fine. I instructed the movers that the guitars had to go into storage first because the weather was over 100 degrees. When they delivered my stuff my most expensive guitar's neck was warped. My best hollow body was cracked and separated right up the center..destroyed. Before this, these high end guitars were perfect like new. A multitude of items were missing. Most things were damaged with dents scratches, and splits from heat exposure. They used tape on everything. The glue on the tape had melted and flowed a gooey mess over everything. Obviously my goods where not in a climate controlled environment. This was the worst nightmare that could happen.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Washington

Awful.

This is by far and away the worst moving company I have ever used. It took one month to get my furniture from Denver to Seattle. I made multiple phone calls to the company to get an estimated arrival date. I think they must screen their calls because not once did anyone pick up the phone. I never received a phone call back either. I tried to email multiple times as well to no avail. When my things finally did arrive, the movers had lost the post and seat to my bike, broke an lamp and a decorative lantern. The men that actually moved the things in to my new place made the notes on the forms like they were supposed to. When I called and emailed about the insurance claim I again received no response. I have tried multiple times to get someone to talk to me, but it has been 9 months now and still nothing. Whatever you do DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE! You will regret the decision in the end.

Mover Review.

Save yourself some frustration, rent a u-haul and move it yourself.
First, we were given an estimate of $1,771.00 by the sales person but then the final bill at loading time was $1970.00. This was a difference of $300.00 even after we excluded some furniture that was included in the original estimate. We had to leave this furniture behind. Also, the sales person said the drivers would pack certain items, but the additional cost for the labor and packing materials were not mentioned until the time of packing. We ended up packing these items ourselves but were charged for the boxes. The driver was curt, impatient and rude as though these discrepancies were due to our being stupid.
Second, we were never contacted by the shipper as to the delivery day; we had a difficult time contacting the correct person only to be told that our furniture would be shipped on the following weekend and delivered the following week. We were given this information 4 weeks in a row.
Third, we were given false verbal information regarding delivery on several occasions. The sales person stated that delivery was in 7-14 days, we then found out at the time of pick up that this is only an estimate and we were then at that time told that the delivery may be up to 21 days. We find out after reading the fine print in the Bill of Lading that the only guarantee for delivery is 30 business days after the first available delivery date. This equated to 42 calendar days (but only 29 business days, so no fines accrued) that we slept on the bedroom floor and sat in folding chairs in the living room.
Last, at delivery, they showed up one day later than finally promised. The trailer had leaked, we had water damage to furniture and several boxes of goods and we are missing a box. However, we did receive items belonging to someone else; we returned these to delivery driver.
All of this said, the 2 delivery drivers were hardworking, pleasant and helpful.

P.S. Filing grievances and complaints with the company if for entertainment propose only. They are skilled at the shuck and jive routine.

Worst moving company EVER.

I would like to make people aware to not use this moving company, we used their Denver office.

The sales people where very professional on making the sale and booking the pick up date but after that it was a nightmare.

Impossible to track the moving status, every time you call they give you a different answer, they say they will speak to the manager and call you back but you never receive any feedback.

HORRIBLE customer service and also the packing was done very poorly.

DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY

We have moved all over the owrld and I have never seen such level of unprofessionalism.

Run don't walk away from this company!

I had to book this move from 2500 miles away.
3 quotes including the final price up up up.
Beligerant and intimidating to my wife at pick up.  I should have fired them there.  My bad.
They would not return calls or emails after they had us.
Lied as to how long it was going to take.
Upon delivery would not take a 4# table off landing and mirror off the hook to take one dresser up one flight of stairs.  I also have a piece of someone else's furniture.
I have moved too many times and have had some spectacular moves with great people and companies.
Run as fast as you can away from these guys!

Please, stay away from this company.

When the movers arrived, the driver appeared to be friendly and knowledgeable.  Unbeknowing to me, he was swindling an additional $700.00, plus on delivery, an additional $200 from me.  I also had to rent a storage unit for my goods, which cost me an additional $142.00.  The total cost of my move was $2,342.00 for a 1500 mile delivery. The delivery guy was rude, aggressive, and demanded additional funds from me.  I had damaged, lost, and stolen goods and no one is returning my call. Be ware of the response from the company about reviews. They respond will lies, stating it wasn't there company.  They are not the company that delivery your goods long distance, they use other companies, which makes them responsible when they accept your order.

Do Not Use This Company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!   1st Choice Moving & Storage was booked for me through Moving APT.  Moving APT guaranteed a price of $1700, however, on moving day, when 1st Choice Moving & Storage got there, I received a call (as I live out-of-state) that they needed another $1500 before they would do anything.  I was stuck and had to pay as I had to be out that day!   1st Choice Moving and Storage moved my belongings into storage - however MUCH OF MY STUFF WAS NOT RETURNED!!  Pieces and things were missing!  And many of the ITEMS THAT WERE RETURNED WERE RUINED!     This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company.   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Very Good Company!!

Very good company!! I received several quotes over the phone but they were actually able to provide me with an in-home quote and was very informative. They provided free boxes which helped out BIG time! I was very impressed with the crew and how they wrapped my furniture. My last move to Phoenix was horrible so I was considering moving myself but didn't have the time. They were courteous and professional (nothing broken or missing) and my items were delivered in a timely manner. The movers were excellent and expericened, not some day laborers off the street like most companies. If I ever move again(which I hope I don't)I will use First Choice Moving for my relocation!

Long-distance move from Colorado to California

Used and Stolen Items.

I must start by saying the movers at the near and far ends were AWESOME!! They were all professional, courteous and kind.   They picked up my things in Denver in Dec 2013 to move into storage until Sept 2014, when I contacted them with my delivery address. The entire time my things were in storage, I had repeated experiences of Mara Reyes' incompetence. Just when I thought she couldn't be less competent, she would surprise me again with that [EDIT] monthly bill. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, she would send my bill around the 30th, due on the 1st, inclusive of a $10 late fee. I called and gently explained that it was impossible to incur a late fee since I hadn't been previously billed. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, she apologized and promised to fix it and that it wouldn't happen again. EVERY SINGLE MONTH, a late fee appeared on my bill. EVERY SINGLE MONTH I relived this same exercise with the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes.   That was my sampling of the frustration that was to accompany my final delivery. All this time I'm thinking my things are safe in their professional climate-controlled storage facility. When I called to schedule final delivery, I was blown-off, and experienced my first real twinge of anxiety - I seriously began to wonder if my things had been sold on ebay or craigslist months prior, as I continued to faithfully pay my monthly storage fee. After daily persistence spanning nearly 2 weeks, I finally got a delivery time-frame out of the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes. Actual delivery was a day later than what she told me, but I was overjoyed when I saw the truck pull up! Fully half of my joy was in believing that I'd never again have to deal with the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes.    I probably wouldn't be writing this review except for what I later discovered.. as I said at the start, the movers themselves were fantastic! And I'm grateful for being the Type A person I am. I made my own inventory list before loading the truck in Dec. Because of my list, I was able to quickly determine I was missing two very integral items: the LEGS and BASE to my pub table (the chairs and table top strangely made it), and a custom-cut glass shelf that goes to my antique vanity. So I have a table I can't use, and an antique with diminished value, thanks to the ever-incompetent Maria Reyes and her cronies. What's with hoarding the table legs - I read this also happened to another reviewer - seriously!!   I blasted an email to every person I'd ever spoken with or emailed there plus Customer Service, and was lucky enough to hear back from "Elena" who sounded sincerely empathetic. Although I believe she tried her best to locate my missing items, I'm certain now that I'll never see them again. But THAT'S not even the most disturbing part. Are you ready? Here it comes..   I KNOW for a FACT that some of my things were USED!! First, the obvious - my vacuum cleaner. The brush was LOADED with hair - and it wasn't mine! Being Type A, I would NEVER ship my vacuum cleaner in such condition. Further, the poor motor sounds like it's been beat to hell. Whoever used it must have been vacuuming an entire motel every day for the entire time it was in "storage"   Next is the stool that goes with my vanity.. the seat cushion was down to one little screw keeping it attached to the base. When the movers collected it in Dec, it was firmly intact. It has a cloth cover and I shudder to think of whose bare buns graced its surface for roughly 270 days. Needless to say I have a recovering project in progress..   Last thing: instead of cardboard boxes, I packed most of my things in large "rubbermaid" bins, and taped the lids down. The tape was broken on almost every one of those bins. Normally I would chalk that up to movers grabbing them where they're taped and it naturally breaking there. But given this experience, I am convinced that someone(s) [I know that's not really a work but you get the idea] anyway, someone(s) went looking through AT LEAST SOME of my bins to see what household additions they might find.   I have no idea what else was taken, and it sickens me to know there are people out there who think this is OK. I'm talking to you Maria Reyes.   But hey, I'm healthy, I'm happy, and I believe in karma :-)  .

Long-distance move from Arizona to New York

Professional & Peace of Mind.

I moved with First Choice Moving from Arizona to New York City my representative was Roxana Aragon.
I have to say this moving experience with this company was GREAT from beginning to end.
Moving can be very stressful and you really don’t know if you can trust all your personal belonging to people you don’t even know.. But Frist Choice Moving proved me that YES I can trust and I can have peace of mind moving cross country. I started talking with Roxana and she was very professional and patient with me explaining step by step and what I need to do since this was my first time moving.  She took the time and asked me what I had to move and gave me a fair price.
On the day of the move Rob and his crew showed up and they were all very nice and helpful Rob explain the whole contract and what I was signing for, I had more stuff that I had forgotten to tell Roxana and Rob explain that I would have to pay more because I had more items, he also was very nice and did a walk thru in all of my house and gave me a price before loading anything on the truck, in case I did not like the price I wouldn’t feel obligated to do the move.   We agree on the price and they stated working all the crew was amazing they packed and wrap all my furniture so well and took their time doing it.
After the move was done about 2 days later Maria called me to let me know my belonging were being loaded on a truck and on their way to New York. She also explain everything about the delivery and what I need to do to be prepared for it .. she verified all my info and was very sweet and helpful because even though I was satisfied with my move so far I was s till a little nervous . She really helped me and explained all the process of the delivery and made me feel confidante that my belongings will arrive safe.
My belonging did arrive safe and every single items that I send arrived no damage or missing the delivery crew was also very nice helpful and professional they put everything back together.
I DEFENETLY RECOMMEND FIRST CHOICE MOVING I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH HOW MUCH THEY HELP ME AND HAVE ME PEACE OF MIND.

Long-distance move from Arizona to New Jersey

This company is THEIVES.

I would not recommend this company to anyone.. I was having then move my stuff from Az to NJ.. First, when I got my quote it was-$1100.00, when they showed up after they started packing I was told the price went up to $1950.00. The guys were extremely rude.. Then I was told I would be given 24 hour notice for delivery. When I got called the delivery guy told me he would be delivering my stuff in 4 hours. They gave me no warning..
When my stiff got delivered, they broke my furniture, and all my tools are missing. They insisted on putting all my tools and my kids baseball bags in wardrobe box.. I thought ok.. Well, the box was never delivered. They opened the box, took out the baseball bags and delivered them but stole all my tools.. Almost $2000.00 worth.. I also noticed a few other boxes were opened and retaped. As I go thru everything I an finding more stuff missing..

I called and I keep getting told someone will call me back. No one had called me so I called 3-4 times a day. Finally I got a woman who emailed me a claim form to fill out but she said it's going to take a while to find my stuff.. I don't see these thieves finding my stuff or reimbursing me for missing items.. All together I am missing over $4000.00 worth of stuff..
